Also what other odd (not odd object) lifts does anyone do? I also do Zerchers once in awhile but don't care for the intense pain they cause in the crook of my elbow.

Today I was goofing off after my workout and decided to try the Two Hands Anyhow Lift. Has anyone ever tried this? You can Google it or look for it on YouTube
but basically you one arm snatch a barbell to straight overhead then pick up a dumbbell or kettlebell from the floor and raise it overhead. Harder than it
looks but I was able to one arm snatch a 6ft Olympic bar loaded to 110 and then pick up a 30kilo kettlebell. Nothing that impressive granted but loads of fun.
I recently got a great deal on bumper plates from a guy in Hilo, HI so I am making good use of them.

Big Cracker: I never could understand the benefit of doing zerchers. What is the point of doing them and what do they do for you? Is there a benefit for doing
them? I think they would just wreck your elbows and forearms and not much else? Whats your take on doing them?

Well my reasons for doing them from time to time is one, they are one of the contested lifts in the USAWA and two, they mimic stone lifting wherein you have to
go as deep as possible and use a rounded back. Now, that being said they are extremely painful on the inside of the elbows/forearms. I am sure that if one were
to do them often enough you would develop a resistance to the pain much like we all did on our upper spine from doing back squats. I think if someone were to
develop a brace of some sort that mimics the movement it would be a safer and less painful way to do it. I know that for me, picking up everyday objects (
furniture, refrigerators, heavy boxes etc) has become much easier by being able to start lifting so deep.
Bob, griff, Jim what do you guys think? Also DOES ANYONE BESIDES ME TO THE 2 HANDS ANYHOW??? LOL |

I really can't comment of zerchers because I have never done them. In fact, other than photos, I have never even seen them done. However, looking at
photos, they certainly do look painful to the arms. Maybe, like you said, if you did them consistently, you will develop resistance to the pain. I know that
the first time I did front squats, it was very painful to my wrists and elbows. Over time, the pain subsided. Maybe it's the same with zerchers. I just
don't know. I have never done the 2-hands anyhow either ( Boy, I've had a sheltered/boring lifting existence!) I think lifting two objects at the same
time would be a challenge, unless you are well-coordinated and have athletic ability. Some people can do it. I don't know if I would want to try it.
I'd be afraid I'd fall on my ass.

every lift I do is a two hands anyhow lift!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL I just try to get it up anyhow I can!!!!!!! I'll probably sound like a wimp but I stay away
from those awkward lifts (whats awkward is a matter of opinion tho I guess). I have a lower back history so I do squats and deads and say a prayer!!!!! I would
be slightly afraid to try the two hands anyhow with any kind of weight. Guess I'm gettin old!!!!!

I've never done the two hands anyhow or the zercher. I pretty much stick to the basic lifts/ movements but I can appreciate why you would want to do it. If
you enjoy it and it makes you stronger then go for it.
